Project B.O.B
Who is Bob?
Mr. Bob Hamilton was individual that loved the ARAS group (known then as ARCS) as much as the ARAS members loved him. Before he became a meeting planner extraordinaire, he was a WWII veteran, serving our country as a Frogman in the elite UDT-17 Special Forces Unit (now known as the Navy SEALs). He pioneered the River Boat Industry by operating and running canoes up the canals of San Antonio. Bob also founded Hamilton Swimming Pools and for 35 years built custom pools (including the one at the State of Texas Governor's Mansion!).
What he loved about his meeting planning career, however, was the traveling and the friendly faces of those he would see every year. For the APDS/ARAS/ASE group, Bob was the timekeeper, ringing the bell to signal session changes. He also had an innate ability to always know where everyone should be going.
During our 2012 ARCS Meeting, the Executive Committee learned of his passing. ARCS President Donna Guinto, C-TAGME, suggested taking a donation collection for the United States Navy Seals Museum and donating funds collected in memory of Bob. At the fall 2012 planning meeting for the Orlando 2013, ARCS President Linda Shaffer, C-TAGME asked that the committee approve selecting an organization each year and raising funds, always donating proceeds in memory of Bob.
Because of Bob's (B.O.B) fondness for our organization and our fondness of him, we continue to raise money and donate the proceeds in his name.
